Staff Survey Raises Money for Local Charity

13 Dec 2016

Staff across The Harpur Trust’s four schools and its head office, have successfully raised £594 by completing a survey about their experience as staff members. As part of its 450th anniversary celebrations, the charity pledged to give £1 for every employee survey completed.

Staff were given the option to vote for one of four charities, and an overwhelming majority voted for Sue Ryder’s St John’s Hospice in Moggerhanger.

The Director of St John’s Hospice, Mike Coward, said, “We are delighted that The Harpur Trust has chosen to support us again. Our clinical team each year provides 90,000 hours of incredible end of life care to around 650 people in Bedfordshire. Our commitment to our patients and their families goes beyond clinical care and £594 would enable us to provide one and a half days of practical and emotional support for families at an immensely difficult time of their lives.”

Samantha Lock, HR Director at The Harpur Trust said “We are delighted that such a simple initiative has raised money for such a worthy local cause. It is certainly something that we would consider doing again and we would certainly aim to top this figure next time around”
