Looking back on 2019

Here at the Trust office, we have a team of 23 staff who work to support our schools and to run our activities as a charity #HereforBedford. We have been looking back on our year and below is a brief snapshot of some of the work we have been doing.
January 19
The search began for a new CEO and Chair of HEART Academies Trust, to take the MAT forward
February 2017
We commissioned NPC to research and review our impact as a placebased charity in Bedford
March 19
Voces8 performed at the Corn Exchange with a specially formed HEART Academies Trust choir, featuring pupils from each of the MAT's 4 schools.
April 19
We brought the Philharmonia Orchestra's 'Orchestra Unwrapped' concert to over 600 state school pupils and their teachers
May 19
Now in its 3rd year, our Inspiring Leaders Programme was accredited by the Insitute of Leadership and Management.

Our Have a Go with Harpur event attracted thousands to Bedford Park for an action packed day of free activities
June 19
We moved our Randalls Close almshouse residents over to the brand new Wixams ExtraCare development
July 19
Our financial year end figures revealed we had spent over £1million on grants to local community projects
August 19
Former CEO (and ex Submarine Commander) David Russell was portrayed by Colin Firth in a major new film, KURSK
September 19
We welcomed this year's University Bursary Students and graduates for a special presentation event

Our team of artists delivered free art insets to state school staff as part of our Art Competition 2020

The first Ready2Lead? conference for Bedford Borough sixth formers was held at Bedford School

The Philharmonia Orchestra's Resident Composer Rachel Leach delivered our inset to state school staff at Bedford Modern School
