Staff from The Harpur Trust and its four schools raised £650 for local charity Tibbs Dementia Foundation, after the Trust pledged to donate £1 to a local charity for every employee satisfaction survey returned. Sarah Russell, Chief Executive of Tibbs, went to Pilgrims Pre-Preparatory School yesterday (Wednesday 20 November) to receive the cheque.
The Trust runs conducts employee surveys as a way of measuring employee engagement and identifying the organisations strengths as well as areas to improve. Staff from our schools and from Head Office chose Tibbs Dementia Foundation as the charity they wished to champion from a short list of local causes.
HR Director Sam Lock explains “We already support many local charities through our grantmaking and this seemed an ideal opportunity for our employees to boost support for a local cause whilst providing the Trust with very valuable feedback”.
David Carr, an IT Curriculum Specialist at Pilgrims Pre-preparatory School, was selected to present the cheque. Pilgrims had the highest return of surveys across the Trust and David is the school's representative on our staff forum.
After receiving the cheque, Sarah Russell said “We are absolutely delighted that The Harpur Trust employees chose our charity to benefit from their fundraising. £650 goes a long way in supporting local people living with dementia, and we are planning to put the money to good use”.
