We are delighted to announce that we will once again be hosting our biennual Have a go with Harpur day on Sunday 19th May 2019.
This free community event will take place in Bedford park between 11am and 4pm with free parking available at the Pilgrim Centre on Brickhill Drive (home to The Harpur Trust office).
A host of local organisations will be joining us to provide information on their services and to provide free tasters, demonstrations, competitions and join in activities.
We will once again be providing a community stage for local dance and music groups to show case their work, a FREE Climbing Wall, FREE Potholing cave and an assault course, plus much more.
Last year, around 60 organisations signed up for the event including local bike shop Flamme Rouge, the world renowned Philharmonia Orchestra (with their virtual reality headsets), The Higgins Bedford, Bedford Blues, Towers Health & Racquets Club, the YMCA, Sustrans, Chums, Full House theatre and Bedford Bowling Club to name just a few.
Our aim in providing this event is to engage with the local community of Bedford Borough (which we serve through our grantmaking, almshouse provision and our education work). We also want to provide a platform for many of the local groups which we support.
If you are a local organisation which would like to get involved, please contact us on events@harpurtrust.org.uk for an exhibitor pack. And if you are interested in attending the event, follow us on Facebook and Twitter for updates as we get closer to the big day.
